According to the Ministry of Culture, something like the vulgar content and the elements prone to make minors addicted to games are still contained in the thriving online games. From the perspective of market competition pattern, by the end of 2009, there had been a total of 499 online game operation companies. In 2009, the top three online game operators Tencent, Shanda and NetEase achieved a total market share of 52.9 %. Certain online game companies neglect the protection of users' rights and interests, which is also the cause for disputes. The serious homogeneity of online games and some other things like the manpower reserve also restrict the game industry's growth. As the Ministry of Culture described in the white paper, much more efforts had been made in the market supervision in the past year; in the coming 5 years, China's online game market will keep growing fast, and the supervision will be made more complete and stricter as well; online game exports will also face greater development opportunities.
